Karl Pearson brings decades of experience handling complex litigation, prosecuting and defending a wide range of business and tort cases ranging from professional liability, construction, contract-related and insurance matters, class actions, to product liability wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases; he was recently named to Florida Trend’s 2010 “Legal Elite”™ and Florida Super Lawyers™ 2012.

Ronnie Bitman continues to demonstrate why he is one of Orlando’s most promising young lawyers. Having been named to Florida Trend’s 2010 “Up & Comers”™ and Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars™ 2012, 2013 and 2014, Ronnie continues to litigate a range of complex and novel matters. Ronnie is well-versed in complex litigation, including class actions, consumer protection matters, contract and employment disputes, trade secret, unfair and deceptive practices, personal injury, and various other consumer and commercial-related matters.
MICHAEL CERASA - Partner
Michael D. Cerasa was born and raised in Wilbraham, Massachusetts. Michael relocated to Central Florida following his graduation from The Florida State University College of Law. Recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star for 2013, Michael is sought out by clients statewide for his expertise in handling a wide range of Plaintiffs injury, property damage, and economic loss claims. Michael is a tireless advocate for people injured due to the negligence of others.

Fred Mohre has defended or prosecuted a diverse range of business and tort matters for more than a decade – from product liability defense, construction litigation, and breach of warranty defense, to complex breach of contract litigation and wrongful death. For many years, Fred has served as counsel to multi-national corporations on legal, transactional, and regulatory issues, advising his clients on cost-effective, creative risk management and loss shifting strategies.
SAMANTHA DARRIGO BOSSARDT - associate
A native of Tampa, Samantha is a graduate of the University of South Florida’s Honors College, magna cum laude. During her years at the University of South Florida, she was a regular on the Dean’s List and an active member of her sorority, Kappa Delta. Majoring in English-Literature, Samantha was admitted to the University of South Florida’s prestigious Honors College and authored a thesis on the paintings of Artemisia Gentileschi. Prior to law school and throughout her time at the University of South Florida, she was a certified paralegal for a personal injury firm in Tampa, Florida.
BENJAMIN BUTTERFIELD - Of Counsel
Benjamin Butterfield is Of Counsel to Pearson Bitman. Ben’s practice focuses on the areas of mergers and acquisitions, compliance matters, general corporate and complex commercial agreements.
Ben joined Pearson Bitman after serving as Senior Vice President and General Counsel to The PBSJ Corporation, an international company providing expertise in engineering, environmental science, architecture, planning and construction with operations in the US, Puerto Rico, United Arab Emirates, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar.
COURTNEY CROSSLAND - Associate
Courtney attended the University of Central Florida where she graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. She then earned her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law. Prior to law school, Courtney worked as a file clerk for a large firm in downtown Orlando focusing on commercial litigation. During her time at Barry, Courtney took the opportunity to work as a certified legal intern for Children’s Legal Service – Department of Children and Family representing the state in child dependency cases.
WENDY GRIFFITH - Associate
Wendy attended the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Wendy worked as an engineer for a short time but then returned to school to earn her practical nursing degree. While working as a pediatric nurse, Wendy again returned to school to earn her Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law.
ALLISON MORAT - Associate
Allison attended the University of South Florida where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. She earned her Juris Doctor from Barry University School of law. Prior to law school, Allison worked as a legal assistant for a real estate law firm, specializing in default services. During her time at Barry, she excelled in her studies, receiving book awards in commercial law, contracts drafting, and remedies. She also worked as a law clerk at a full service, national law firm.
CHRIS O'BRIEN - Associate
Christopher attended Mount Saint Mary’s University where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in English Literature and a Minor in History. After graduation, Christopher worked in Information Technologies with a Fortune 500 Company before returning to school to earn his Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law. During his time at Barry, Christopher was a delegate to the Environmental Responsibility Committee and founding member of the Energy Club.
KRISTEN RICKARD - Associate
Kristen attended Binghamton University where she graduated cum laude with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. After graduation, Kristen left her hometown in upstate New York to move to beautiful Orlando, Florida to earn her Juris Doctorate from Barry University School of Law. During her time at Barry, Kristen excelled academically and professionally. She was awarded the book award in numerous law school classes, including Government Contract Litigation and Contracts Drafting.
RONNIE SYME - Associate
Ronnie attended Stetson University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with a Major in Political Science and a Minor in Psychology. After graduation, Ronnie attended Barry University School of Law, where she earned a concentration in Child and Family Law.
During her time at Barry, Ronnie was part of the Children and Family Clinic where she represented children in dependency court. Following her first year of school, Ronnie completed an internship with the Ninth Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office.
MATTHEW ROSENTHAL - Associate
Matthew H. Rosenthal was born and raised in New York. Matthew attended the University of Massachusetts, Amherst where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree with a Major in Sports Management. After graduation, Matthew worked in minor league baseball with the Brooklyn Cyclones in Coney Island, New York before returning to earn his Juris Doctorate from Florida Coastal School of Law.
TERIS BEST - Associate
Teris Best was born and raised in upstate New York, moving to Florida as a teenager. Teris attended St. Leo University obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management. She then went on to attend Barry University School of Law where she graduated magna cum laude. Teris practices real property law with an interest in Plaintiff’s foreclosure work.
